Homes and renovations, designed for how you live
New homes, renovations and additions on the Gold Coast and in Northern NSW, from narrow-lot houses in Mermaid Beach to waterfront homes on the Isle of Capri.
hhh architects designs new homes, renovations and additions for private clients on the Gold Coast and in Northern NSW. The practice has designed more than 40 private residences, and its Fingal house won the RAIA Gold Coast House of the Year at the 2005 Queensland Architecture Awards.
Residential & Renovations
A home that matches your lifestyle
Creating a home in Australia starts with lifestyle choices. It is the client's vision, lifestyle needs and objectives that matter most. Residential architecture is about shaping a property into a home that matches your personality and enhances the way you live.
Our climate suits homes that connect indoor and outdoor spaces for coastal and urban living. Whether a house blends into the landscape or becomes the standout on the street, we know how to align a budget with design ambitions.
Projects come adrift when planning pays too little attention to the rules set by local authorities. Our architects manage increasingly complex approvals, compliance and construction challenges, and our private houses have been recognised at the AIA Gold Coast House Awards.

Asked and answered
Do you only work on large commercial projects?
No. We also design private houses. Whether you are planning a major renovation or a complete new build, we have the expertise and experience, and our private residences have won awards.
Is it expensive to hire an architect?
An architect is an investment in the future value of your property. We consider aesthetics, function, lifetime running costs and maintenance. An experienced architect can add substantial value at concept stage and offer alternative design solutions.
Can you manage council approvals?
Yes. Our architects manage approvals, compliance and the construction challenges that come with them, and we have long-term relationships with consultants, trades and council.
Which way should my new house face?
A north-facing house is easy to shade in summer while letting in winter sun. Depending on your location there is usually a leeway of up to 30 degrees from true solar north. Read why solar orientation matters.
Do you provide interior design?
Yes, from concept to completion. If you already have an interior designer, we are happy to bring them into the team.
